Here at Airbnb.com, we know that it is important to always be budgeting your time and money in a healthy manor that is good for both you and your wallet. Travelling is usually a pricey endeavour that many people don’t take because of the financial penalties that can affect you. Airbnv.com wanted to create a helpful budgeting technique that allows you and your wallet to remain happy. Here is a broad overview of things you will need to include into your budget along with some guidance tips.

Entrance fees
No matter where you’re going there are always places you are going to want to see or experience. These are often shielded with a small entrance charge that is usually little. Museums are a popular go-to when travelling Europe and although many of them are free for students, there are some that require payment. The Entrance fees in Europe can range from anywhere from €0 to €20. If you’re a student and are travelling our best advice is to bring your student card! Trust us it will help you more than you think.

Food
When you’re done your long day at the museum you’re probably going to be starving! One of the best things about travelling is that many of the restaurants in traveller destinations display their menus outside of the restaurant with a person that is able to answer of the questions you might have about the food. The prices will display as well. This makes it easy to budget your money from breakfast through dinner. Your meal budget should be €50 a day for an average meal to fill the belly. Everyone has a different spending habit so you can price your meal accordingly.

Keepsakes and Souvenirs
On your way through some big cities, amazing sites, and breathtaking scenery, you are going to want probably buy some things to remember these times. Depending on your spending habits and what you like to cherish some people prefer little things like a magnet, shot glass, or a little statue. These can be bought and bulk and are easy to travel with and can be given out to loved ones back home. Of course if you’re going to spend a lot of money on a larger item such as a handmade rug or glassware it’s good to keep in mind that it’s harder to travel with.

The good thing about today is that money has separated itself from the physical form. What many people don’t know is that it is easy to use debit cards that you use at home overseas. That’s right! You can use any ATM to access amounts of currency in whatever area you’re in. One thing to do before you travel is to let your bank know that you will be travelling or else they will think your card has been stolen. Another thing to keep in mind when you are taking out money is to research the exchange rate. This can easily be done by typing it into Google and having the analytic tell you on the search screen. Fast, easy, and informative.
